I am a gamer and my budget is $800.

So far I know I am getting the following:

CPU - E8400 Wolfdale
Ram - G.Skill 4GB (2 x 2GB) PC2 6400
PSU - Corsair Memory 650W TX650W
Case - Antec 900

I already have optical drives and (2) 160GB WD Cavier Sata hard drives. I mostly play MMORPG's but I am unsure as to whether or not I should get a Nvidia 750i mobo or a P35 mobo. I have picked out a 8800gt video card but I think SLI would be overkill for the type of gaming that I do. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Remember though I only have about 800 bux to work with.

The 8800GT is a great card that has become very affordable these days...so stick with that. As far as the SLI is concerned...that is always something you can evolve into. Just make sure to get a board with SLI on it so you can add it in the future.

I personally am a fan of the Nforce boards...so the 750i FTW is my bet.

yea since you have that extra money i would go for an 8800GTS and then in the future go Sli if you find the need to otherwise just save money s you can splash it on nehalem when it comes out. Just get an Sli capable board for now Evga 750i FTW seems good and is one of the cheaper Sli board out there.

8800GT beats the old version of GTS anyday. If you want to get about a 10% gain for $30-50 then make sure you get the G92. I personally like the 8800GT. Others look good, but take a look at Crucial Ram with the Micron-D chips, they perform very very well. Good luck, nice build.

I have been looking today and I decided to go with an SLI board. The prices have come down so much on them as of late that it would just be dumb for me not to go ahead and get one. I am still alittle uneasy about my choice on graphics though. I hear great things about the 8800GT's but I am not sure exactly what brand to get. Newegg has a PALiT NE/880TSXT302 GeForce 8800GT SONIC 1GB card for a good price. I have been told that Palit makes good cards but the reviews seem alittle split. I haven't heard anything bad about evga cards or xfx cards so I will most likely go with one of those. This is the one that sticks out to me so far, here.

I currently have 2 XFX 8800GS's in my rig and I have been pretty impressed with them. My only complaint is that they are a tad loud...but that's what you get with a card thats the size of a MicroATX board.

If you have any concerns about not getting the right one....then I would advise you to get EVGA because of their wonderful STEP-UP program. If with-in 90 days - you want to upgrade...you can directly from EVGA. How can you go wrong there?

The card you picked should do a good job,but if you can afford it go for an GTS and the Evga 750i FTW.
