A price lower than the 245B but apparently, same panel as the Samsung 244T, and the dell ultrasharp 24". It also whips the samsung in image quality and viewing angle. Whats the catch?

You know what i do when I can't make up my mind? I buy both from a local place with a good return policy. Test them both out and return the one I don't like. Win, win.

The catch? the fact it is an Acer. Remember, you get what you pay for. i would have to recommend the 245BW, and im sure others will too. it is a kickass monitor with a great track record, and its a Samsung.

yeah, i read up on it, and the whole thing seems a bit suspect. Asus had some with 8bit panels, and some with reject 6 bit ones. The 8bit ones are great, but the 6 bits are supposed to be seconds from dell, with dead pixels. And theres no dead pixel warranty...

I have the Acer P241WAID and it far exceeds my expectations..

Acer computers? Sure, they were what they were but their monitors are IMO top of the line to Samsung and others.. I researched a ton before investing and I can say I'm quite pleased with the Acer line of monitors so don't discount based on name alone.

AFAIK, it really depends on what monitor you actually get. All places advertise one thing, which when it comes, is infact the revised model with the shoddy panels. Might look into it tomorow, when all the shops open up.

Difference? It's all about the name. Doesn't matter if the monitors are identical, you are paying for the Samsung stamped on the monitor and box (their support as well, of course). It's the same deal with graphics cards, motherboards and everything else. The products could be identical, but it matters which company you are buying it from and what "Extras" come with it.
