I am looking into getting a tv tuner and this is looking nice to me, should I go with USB or would I better off getting a card. I am using 64 bit vista.

i was looking at that one at fry's earlier today... i have heard that this one works well and i am definitely considering this one as well as a few other usb ones. i like the fact that if you have multiple computers, you can switch it with no hassle.

You'll most likely get better reception with a card because you'll have an antenna hooked into it as opposed to the tiny usb receiver. Just put a tuner card in my pc and it works great, I get all the local channels in digital.

With a card you can get onboard processing instead of sending it all to the cpu like a usb would. I currently have a hauppaug 1600 that is working great with my sig machine.

hmm well actually for me I am not really that concerned with over the air reception. sounds stupid but here is what I have going. I have dish network so the device will be set to receive the signal from that and or my dvd player. possibly an older game console as well sometimes. so it would most likely be set to one channel and left there. so ant. tuning power is not a huge issue really as the signal will be coming from less then 50 away down a cable.

my main goal here is to get rid of the 28"x21"x21" CRT tv in my room that's always on CH. 4 or aux anyway. ( takes up a lot of space)

I should have provided more info last night but I was barely awake.
