I know of several people who buy open box mobo's from newegg and as soon as they get them they RMA them for good measure. I don't see any reason why DFI wouldn't honor their warranty...

back in socket 939 days, they were awesome - they had a sweet support site (dfistreet.com) and were very modder friendly... everybody loved them.... but then people found out that their lower end 939 NF4 lanparty boards could easily be modded to higher end models via pencil on the northbridge... I think that's when they went downhill customer service wise... the a$$es of the dfi higher ups tightened so much that they could probably have been used as cigar cutters

They broke off ties with dfistreet (now dyistreet) basically barring them from association, added epoxy in an attempt to kill the nf4 northbridge mod (which people just tried to scrape off to get to the contacts for the mod - which I'm sure some people screwed up - thus probably increasing DFI's RMAs), and as of recently - added warranty void stickers on the NB of their 775 blood iron (I don't think any other company goes to that extent)

Anyways, they have certainly lost their awesome reputation

As for the question the thread asked, 15days DOA by newegg, everything after that is under DFI's regular warranty

I think some of the DFI ppl wen to foxconn and that's why their boards are so awesome now.

Be careful though, the warranty probably started when the box was first opened. So if the product was originally purchased 6 months ago (for example), then you probably have two and a half years left.
