how much better is a 8800gts 512 (g92) compared to a 8800gts 320 (g80)?

and by how many marks in 3dmark06?

8800 gts 512 is 20-30% faster than a 8800 gts 320 !!

yes, it is considerably better. the older one will score around 8500 in 3dm06, while the the g92 8800gts will score around 11500.

The 512 version is MUCH better than the 320. They aren't even the same card. Damn nVidia for naming them the same thing.

11451: sig rig with 320Mb 8800GTS 614/1600/2020.

14270: sig rig with 512Mb 8800GTS 820/2020/2240.

The extra V-Ram also ensures any slight slow downs or stutters you had in the more demanding of games has now gone. I could hardly play crysis on high with the 320Mb now it's playable on Very High.

well i get 13509 marks in 3dmark06 with my 320 but i OCd it too the max lol..

I just built my friends system with a 8800GTS 512 and it played crysis at 1680x1050 all high in dx9 at about 40-50fps, i was very impressed with it. my 320 only gets an average of 18fps at those settings.
