Thing is, since WoW is completely online, lot of your performance is gonna depend on the net connection along with your graphic card. At that res you should be able to "max out" the visual settings and have the capacity to get a decent (30-50) frame rate, however I've heard even then you're gonna be looking at around 20-30 because of the next connection, so it still may not run smooth.

At least that's what I've been told. Someone tell me if I'm totally off on this one.

When you get network lag in WoW it does not slow the graphics, everything will run at same speed but youll notice difference in network lag, resulting from higher ping.
Im running wireless off a router so its no big deal, I have a more than decent connection

With WOW i think your right, my mate has a 256mb 7600GT which is standard with everything maxed and some days he gets 50fps and others only 20fps. I think in his case its the WOW server that dictates speed not his rig.

Hmm. Well on top of this compared to your friend i have a 512mb 7600 over a 256. All I got is a flat FPS of 15, give or take a few fps. It never drops lower than say 12, and never over say 18. I seem to not have any server problems then.
But right now im playing on a laptop with a 200m mobile xpress...Ive almost hung myself several times.

AT that resolution it should be fine as long as you don't use AA
