HELP!! Motherboard Runnning at 45-50 Idle!

please help...i bought a new Motherboard (ASUS P5K-EPU) and when i turn it on, it runs at 45-50 idle, and makes the processor run at the same....why is this happening??

Its not making the processor that hot...


Get a fan on it, does that help?

is there any settings in the bios i have to go over? i hear AS were terrible motheroar makers, but i got one insted to test it and now im regretting it badly....ialso bought a new CPU cooler(Coolermaster Hyper212) and that does not do ang to help because of the rediculou terboard temps...please help...

Never heard of that cooler. It might not be so good, I would return it and get something respectable at a good price like a Tuniq Tower, Ximatek HDT thing, or TRUE120 (thermalright ultra 120 extreme)


As for your motherboard, does it have a fan?

theres nothing wrong with the cooler, it works great with the CPU, when i put it on my old motherboard it was cooling at 17-18 degrees idle, but this motherboard is a let down, ive had so many problems with this ASUS board... think ill return it...

ASUS is one of the better(best?) motherboard manufacturers as far as stability, etc in my opinion. Those temps aren't really that hot (Not sure where you are from, but it could be a result of this thing called "Summer"), I agree with XFreeRollerX if you are really worried about it just put another fan/rework you current fan setup. What are your load temperatures?

load temps is 60 degrees...that not normal...when i overclocked on my old motherboard i didnt even get to that temp. this is some rediculous temps...i go into the BIOS, and it comes up red where it displays the motherbaord temps...somethings not right...
