Trouble overclocking Q9300 on 790i ultra

Thread Starter
I am trying to overclock my q9300 on my new 790i ultra sli mobo and it seems that the bios is restricting my FSB of my cpu to 1600 mhz equaling 3 ghz to my cpu, yet other people are able to overclock the fsb to much higher than 1600 mhz FSB. Does anybody know the problem and the solution?

Computer details: Q9300 yorkfield 1333FSB, EVGA 790i ultra sli mobo, 4 gig 2x2 dimm OCZ DDR3 1600mhz FSB, EVGA 9800 gx2 superclocked, ABS 900 watt modular power supply, LG DVD burner/reader, Rosewill copper 92mm heatsink/fan, case NZXT tempest, 300 gig velociraptor, 750 gig western digital 7200 rpm HDD

I had the same problem.

Solved it by updating the bios, that tends to get rid of alot of the "FSB holes" that you tend to see.

Did you try updating?
