8800gs

Thread Starter
Ok first the specs

Cpu: Intel Pentium D Dual Core 2x3ghz
Ram: Buffalo 2gb Ram
HDD: 250 Gb Hdd
MOBO: GIGABYTE GA-945GZM-S2
Gpu (Was not orginally in there) XFX ALPHA DOG Nvidia 8800GS 384Mb DDR3

And my problem is the mobo supports x16 but only @x4 which i know can cause a big proformance diference in cases, is it possible to change it?, ive tried the bio's but theres nothing there about it i dont think.

Can anyone help me please?

First of all, contrary to the guy at Best Buy, a dual core does not mean you have 6ghz =P

Second, now many video cards have you got? Just the one?

It's this motherboard right? http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/...ProductID=2425

Yes you do have 1 PCIe x16 running at x4, the 8800gs will take a hit in performance but only a bit. It'll be miles better than the GMA950.
