depends

If you are on a high temperature barrier then yes, lapping surfaces will help get a lil more OC out of the chip

If your temps are fine (50-55*C Load) Then it is possible you are at the chip's mhz limit at a decent voltage

Seeing as you are using 1.5V, might want to check your temps

Well, I'm at 43 C idle 73 C under load. That seems extraordinarily high to me. Would lapping be beneficial in this case?

You are kidding right?

you mean the TJMax temp in coretemp?

That is not the TDP for an E2160 or any other current intel processor.

105C = meltdown.

Anything over 61.4C sustained will eventually degrade the chip.
