Yeah how so? If its a triangular shape, with the majority of rep and knowledge at the base and people with no rep and little knowledge at the tip, who can i legitimatley recieve rep off? People who are new and dont even know rep exists? Or people who know everything i do know with the tons of rep?

I disagree with that figure. I personally committed a rep crime, and it was not due to multiple accounts. Me and this other guy just exchanged a lot of reps. And you know what? We got caught, and we got those points taken away, and my For Sale thread got closed. I wasn't happy about it, but I took my scolding like a man. The admins here find the rule breakers and deal with them appropriately. I was lucky and glad I didn't get banned. All the admins ask is that everyone here is just honest and plays by the rules so that they don't have to waste all their time enforcing them. If more people would do that, it would be better for them so they could enjoy the site like the rest of us. Not to mention it would make the more dishonest people stick out like a sore thumb, getting them caught and banned quicker without a hitch.

I only have a gmail account... Well that is not entirely true. I have a university account, but it just forwards to my gmail account.

The way I read this, is you would rather limit the membership here to those who can afford to pay for an email account somewhere, and tell everyone else it's too bad but they don't deserve help because they don't have enough money..That's elitism if I ever saw it. Same as saying "Oh, you can't afford the latest and greatest the day it comes out? Sorry you can't be a member here." It doesn't make sense when the whole basis of this forum and it's membership is to HELP people who have questions or problems. I had a problem and that is exactly how I found this place. I caught the bug and now I visit everyday.

Just what exactly is a "legitimate email"?

I just think banning free email accounts is a stupid and lazy fix to a not-so-prevelant problem. There are better ways. That's just someone who doesn't want to take the time to deal with it. My $0.02.

Ok wheres your suggestion?
I don't need a suggestion. I'm OCN, and I love the way they do it here. End of story. This thread is just a reminder to rep abusers. You're not going to change the system. Just enjoy it and live by it.

I dont know about the rest of you, but when i was at home living with my parents, they had a legit email when i did not. When i moved out i got a legit email with my internet connection. I thought it was standard nowadays.
