Using a XBOX 360 Controller for COD4 on P.C.?

Thread Starter
I know most True P.C. FPS fans will wonder why in earth would I want to use a Controller for a P.C. FPS! Well, Since buying my new 24 Inch LCD I have a hard time putting enough distance between myself and my screen when using my Mouse and Keyboard. So until I get a new desk which will help my situation out I have been using my XBOX 360 controller to play some games while sitting 4-5 Feet from my Monitor which makes my games look even better.
So far most games support using my XBOX controller but COD4 doesn't. And I am wondering if anybody has a workaround for this problem?
Thanx

I'm sure it's possible, a controller is a controller, it should work in any game. But I warn you - you'd have a massive disadvantage.

I've tried just plugging it in, but it won't work...

There was a program I found that you could define buttons to the controller, I'll find it out for you...

yes it will work, if you have the wireless controller, then all you need to do is buy a wireless adapter for $20 and install on your PC, and it should work......

Thanx, I will try Xpadder. I have used that program in the past and it works great. But I don't see a option to even use a controller for COD4 in the in game menu? Where do you enable the Controller in the in game menu?
Is there somebody who has used a controller for COD4?

Only "Games for Windows" PC games officially, and properly support the 360 controller. Like Crysis, and Halo 2 for example. Not CoD4. So even if you did get it "working" you won't have any auto-aim which is pretty much required for a controller in an FPS.

You need to install the driver from the XPadder website.
