Safe to OverClock

Thread Starter
I have an MSI Nvidia 8600GT overclock edition. The driver included with the card allows for 6 levels of OverClocking built in. My question is this: I can use the 6th (highest) level of overclcoking provided by the included drivers.

Even at these increased numbers (at work cannot provide exact numbers atm) the highest temp i have seen it reach (after playing LOTRO for about 4 hours on Ultra High) is 64 degrees C. Additionally, itr only takes about 2-3 minutes after closing the app. for the temps to drop back to 50C.

Can i continue to overclock it as long as the temperatures remain low!? About 20 more MHz and ill be at the stock core clock for the 8800 GT card.

Thanks for any advice!!!

PS.

i have 64-bit Vista
Intel Q6600 quad-core 2.4GHz
4 GB RAM
and card specs are:
MSI Nvidia 8600 GT
256MB DDR3 RAM

64C load for a video card is ice cold just keep it below 90C and you're good.

You should voltmod that card.
