Small modular PSU?

Thread Starter
Im trying to build a sweet SFF machine, and am having some trouble with the PSU.

The case I like is the Aerocool M40, but it has two drawbacks- first you really need a modular power supply, and second that power supply needs to be 140mm (5.5 inches) long or less.

I see quite a few modular psu's on the egg, but they are all too big or they dont give dimensions.

I figure for the system I am building a 350-400W PSU would be okay (not planning on overclocking).

Can anyone recommend a good PSU that will fit in this case?

Thanks!

Modular and 5.5" or less will be difficult. The only one so far I've seen is the Liberty 400 and 500W. I'm trying to find specs on the Seasonic M12 430 but I can't find dimensions yet. The Corsair 520 is 5.9" long.

edit: The Seasonic is 6.3", so I'm still looking for more than just the Liberty. None of the Antec modulars are the right size.

The PSU has to be mATX form factor.
Since the case is that.

Well hell, no one makes a mATX psu with modular cables.

edit: By looking at pictures and reviews it looks like it is setup for a ATX PSU to me . I can't find any modulars that will fit besides the Liberty and I am no fan of that PSU. The Antec and Corsair modulars are all 5.9" and the Seasonic and Thermaltakes are all 6.3". The lower watt non-modular Corsairs (vx450 and vx550) are both 5.5" as well as the Antec EA-430 and 500. If you decide you can go without modular those would be your best bet.

I also found the Enermax Modu82+ that is 140mm and should be a better PSU than the Liberty but man is it over priced: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817194031

Thanks for the suggestions so far!

I suppose the PSU doesnt HAVE to be modular, but if its not there will be a serious space problem with this machine.

The other case candidate is the thermaltake lanbox lite:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811133045

The M40 just seems better to me. But if I cant find a recommended PSU for the thing, or one that even fits what is the point?

Im really just looking for a small form factor pc that I can put a decent sized (not low profile) graphics card on.

Anyone have any other thoughts?

I also suppose I could mod the case and made the PSU fit. Looks like its mostly the HD cage that gets in the way:
http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/f...ad.php?t=13692

This review does a good job showing the case/PSU issue.

Thanks!

Yeah there has to be a better place for the HDs. I really don't know much about SFF cases so I can't really help you find an alternative.
