As long as you have the G0 revision you're fine there. If you don't know if you have a G0 download Core Temp and it will say under revision.

No, most people try to stay well under 70ºC load. Idle in my opinion is kind of high for running 3.15Ghz, what kind of voltage did you have to put to it to get it to run stable @ 3.15? Guessing 450x7? That's what I ran mine at, and could really get the voltage down there.

It's a lower wattage unit, and is an overall better revision, generally better for overclocking as they don't turn into furnaces as easily.

G0 (pronounced G zero) is just the later version of the Q6600. The first one was the B3. The temp threshold was only 61°c instead of 72°c it ran hotter than the G0 and wouldn't overclock as high as a result.

Those temps are safe.

But I still think they are quite high compared to others using better coolers.

The 9500 was never designed with the quad core in mind.

It's a beautiful little cooler, but it's not up to the task of cooling a Q6600.

My Q6700 @ 3.8ghz, in the exact same 24C room (really, that's what my room is right now) is idling at 35C. Load is about the same as yours.

...

Again ... those temps are within Intel specifications for your chip.

But you could have much much better temps if you nixed the Zalman 9500.

Have fun.

Hey mine are also right there. I backed mine off to 3.0 for the summer cause of the heat.
No worries though, summer's only about 2 months up here in NH so I'll be right back up to 3.6 in no time.
