What chip to go along with DFI 650?

Bought the DFI that was on sale in the online deals sections for $50 bucks shipped, what chip should I match it up with?

I'm switching to intel due to my AMD board being a horrible overclocker and having heat problems.

I'm keep everything else just shipping out motherboard, processor and cooler.

What cheap chip should I get to go along with this board? I would like to hit 3.0 ghz.

I never overclocked my AMD since the board is crappy so I ran at stock speeds, in 3dmark06 I got a 3225.....

I'm not a power computer user but I expect a better number than that. I will upgrade the graphics card soon but for now what chip should I get?

You think it's a good idea to buy a 2160 off ebay? I got a deal for $50 shipped OEM only. Shouldn't it be a stepping I should look for?

Btw, what do you think of that board? I know it's a bit old but is it a good OC'er?
