E8400/e8500?

Thread Starter
I'm currently looking at the Core 2 Duo's. I noticed the E8500 is $100 more than the E8400. I looked at the specs and they both seem identical accept for the slight difference in speed.
So my question is: Why is the E8500 better? and if it is does it justify a $100 price difference.
Thanks

Get the E8400. Not worth the extra $100. Your gonna overclock it anyway.

I dont think there actually is a difference other than the .16 difference in speed stock.
I say its not worth the extra money as these overclocker way more than the .16.

The E8500 overclocks slightly better (maybe 300-400MHz more). If you have money to burn to get the most out of your system, then go for it.

The e8500 has a 9.5x multiplier, the e8400 has a 9x multiplier.

my E8400 and E8500 both went to about 4.7 but the 8500 did it on a lower voltage one more safe for 24/7 usage
