Need some ideas and tips!

Here's my build plan so far...

Tagan Black Pearl case
Nvidia EVGA 790i Ulta SLI
Q6600 CPU
EVGA 9800GTX x 2
2 WD Velociraptor 320 GB drives
Tagan PSU at least 1000 watts

not sure on the RAM yet. Want at least 4GB. Was considering OCZ SLI but may go with the Coarsair

water cooled
D-TEK V2 block
PA 120.2 rad
DDC Pump
EK-RES250 Rev.2 Multi-Option Reservoir

Let me know what you guys would recommend I throw out or what is a good idea.

So far I have the case, processor, wtr block, and mobo

but doesn't the OCZ ram have some sort of voltage errors when first installed with the 790i board? I heard that you have to have other ram to get it booted and adjust thru the bios to the OCZ settings before they will work.

Hmmm, I don't have a 790i board, so I can't answer that, but the Corsair RAM tends to suck for overclocking.

I havn't heard of that one either....

Even RAM with a stock voltage of 2.2V should be able to post at 1.8 (normally the default value on Mobo's) though it might BSOD during OS installation...but all you need it to do is post so you can get to BIOS.

Yeah, here's a quote from a post by Robilar.

"Note!: There are issues with certain sets of OCZ DDR3 RAM and this board. OCZ has posted that due to misprogrammed JEDEC code on their ram, the EVGA 790i Ultra board does not supply correct voltage to the ram, thus preventing the board from posting. It is possible to make it work by swapping with another set that works and manually setting your ram voltage but that will require two different sets of DDR3. All Corsair ram is unaffected by this issue."

With as expensive as ddr3 ram is, I'm not sure what I'll end up doing yet. Buy cheapies along with the good OCZ stuff to get it to post. Then set the voltage and swap in the goods maybe.

So anyone have any other ideas or recommendations about my build project? It sounded like I might need to reconsider something from one of my other posts.
