What to do with new build

By the end of this summer guys, i'll have enough to build my gaming/photoshoping rig. Anyhow... my plan was to get a Q6600 because they're hecka cheap and are great for multitasking purposes. I mainly want to know how i should spend my money. Should I get the 775 socket mobo, ddr2 ram and a q6600? Or should i go to a budget option and wait till the "Nehelem" or how ever you spell it; CPU's, motherboards and ram? Thanks in advance!

well, the Nehalem mainstream and value desktop cpus and mobos would be out by H2 2009. so I'd rather invest in an Q6700, DFI BloodIron P35 mobo, Arctic Cooling Freezer XTREME fan, 4GB DDR2, Radeon HD 3870, WD6400AAKS HDD, Corsair HX520W and Vista x64 Premium.

As SZayat said, Nehalem mainstream won't be out straight away

For a nice "cheap" performance system i'd reccomend...

CPU: Q6600
Mobo: Gigabyte DS3L or DS3R if you want to use onboard RAID
CPU: 8800GT [EVGA, BFG, XFX, MSI, ASUS, Gainward - Its all good]
HDD: 320GB Western Digital AAK [16MB Cache, 7200RPM]
Cooling: Arctic Freezer Pro

The cooler will easily get you up to 3-3.2GHz and its dirt cheap

The motherboard is a brilliant, easy overclocker - in my opinion one of the best to 'OC n' Go'

The hard drive is one of the fastest 320GB HDD's out there, and it doesn't cost much - and is great for RAID0

The 8800GT is a good card, can OC well and will give you good performance in your system with most games
