Modifying Multipliers in NF-M2S

Thread Starter
Well, my current mobo is NF-M2S, and my CPU is Athlon X2 5000+ Black Edition. I've heard about Black Edition CPUs have unlocked multipliers in another site. However, when I opened the BIOS, there is no option to modify the multiplier at all! What a waste.

Question:
Is there any chance that I can modify the multiplier while using this mobo?

Note: I'm planning to update my BIOS soon. Will it help?

No good replies eh?

I already know about open OC item with BIOS v18, but I doubt it will feature modifying multipliers. However, will someone confirm about this?

use 4x multi on HT
on the memory the lower multi
when you find the max o.c. stable try to use the next multi for the memory
and check if that is stable.

I cant confirm, but so far its your best bet. Update and see where that takes you. If you CAN OC then thats great, if not, well then do like the rest of us and try bumping the FSB up a bit at a time. Use nTune if you ahve to, its better than nothing I suppose.

Unfortunately, when I try to bump the FSB from 200 to a mere 210 (via BIOS) , the mobo seems to refuse and reverts to the original 200 although the system is still able to start.

I'm not sure why, but I'm suspecting my humble 230W PSU is the culprit. I do have plans to upgrade to a 550W PSU, somewhere in the future.

Yeah, that PSU is bundled with the casing, and I forgot to check it before purchasing it. Damn.

Bump.

Okay, I've upgraded to CoolerMaster eXtreme Power Plus 470W, and a Zotac 9600GT 512MB GDDR3 AMP! Edition. No bios update though.

Will that do?
