Turn your computer off, now.

...

While your computer is turned off ... try reseating your Tuniq.

How much and what type of thermal compound are you using?

You said you reseated you tuniq, what were your temps before?

Wow that is hot! Hope you turned it off in time.

Remember to use a small amount of TIM, too much is bad but judging from the temps you were getting at idle? it's got to be that the heatsink was not in proper contact properly

Check your heatsink hasn't detached from the motherboard - mine has a tendency to do it as it's heavy

You we're getting reasonable temps before right?

Did you check the temp in your bios healthcheck section. Some cpu temp appz give your very wrong answers. What app are you using?

The thing is they're usually only off by 15 celcius max.

Assuming your temps were in an acceptable range before you reseated....you must have it on improperly.

Try to re-seat it again and go directly to BIOS and check the temp there. If your anywhere near 100...shut down immediately.

If it is reseated properly, and still giving big temps. What are the chances the thermal diode might have failed?

I has never happened to me, or anyone I know.

It's not overclocked at the moment is it? make sure your voltages are okay! down arount 1.250 ish
