Are you using ntune? I have heard many horror stories due to that program.

Choose which one you have and then it will show you what drivers to get.

Omega drivers are custom made by a game and they are usually for optimal performance and quality. They unlock the potential of many ATI and Nvidia cards

Hi Guys,

I recently built a whole new PC, including a 9800GX2. My problem is that everything works fine apart from the fact that no matter what game I play or 3D app that I run I get really poor performance.

What happens is that the game will render just fine (Take AoC for example, i get 70fps in that with all settings on High) then every 30 seconds it drops to 1-3 FPS and stutters all the time. Then it recovers and goes back to 70fps only to drop again seconds later. This constantly happens no matter what i'm doing, be it a game or 3dMark. (My 3dMark score came out at like, 5k because of this).

I've tried running it in Multi-GPU and Multi-Display mode to see if that helps the issue, but its the same no matter what mode its in.

It's running temps seem ok. It idles at about 55 on the stock cooler with the fans at 100%, and all the time i was playing AoC the temps never rose above 60.

Here's my system:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 @ 2.50GHz
Mobo: MSI P7N Diamond
Mem: 4096 DDR2
GFX: XFX 9800GX2
PSU: Corsair 650w

Gfx Driver Verson: 7.15.11.7516

Please help, so far its like i've wasted €1.3k.

I doubt a 5°c delta between idle and load on air.
How are you monitoring your temps?
This sounds exactly like a throttling issue.

Nvidia's monitor program, from the control center.

no, just check in your bios what your rail voltage is.
