any of u considered Intel/ATI cause i am with these new 4870's coming out, just waiting for benchies would allow me to pick up a p45 enstead of a 780i save 100 bucks and clock way better ^+^

Sorry but ATI/AMD are not high performance parts. A intel rig with nvidia 88s beat almost everything. Ati used to kill Nvida during the 1xxx times but ever since 7xxx Nvidia is da bomb.

Except the 9 series is a late 8 series rehash, and the 3870 X2 dominates everything in its price range. That and nVidia's new cards are going to be ridiculously expensive.

Edit

Check out mah post count

The 1xxx series and the 7xxx series were out at exactly the same time. The X1900 XTX and the 7900 GTX were neck and neck, performance wise.

I read a lot of benchmarks in 2005, before picking up my XTX.

And using the term 'da bomb' makes you sound like a prepubescent fanboy.

Casefan, I really don't think that comment was needed.

It would be really nice if we kind of knew what the OP does on his machine on a day to day basis. If he's just browsing the internet and checking email then his current rig should serve that purpose just fine.
