Childish? Gaming full stop is childish then. The graphics may not be technically beautiful but trust me there are times when you will be in awe of the scenery. Assuming you have even played the game you know the feeling of flying into Nagrand for the first time.

Age of Conan barely sold 1 million in their first week. World of Warcraft has 10 million paying subscribers. I'm betting some of those AoC players won't renew.

I agree. At the moment if you have been through all the content in the Burning Crusade there isn't much left to do. If you haven't then hurry up and see it all . Otherwise wait for WotLK.

In my opinion at the moment WoW is the better MMO but that may change as AoC matures a little.
Agreed. For a lot of people AoC will become their favorite MMO. It's gorgeous, refreshing, and more or less really fun. It depends on whether you can get past the instancing. I hate it, it killed the game for me (as I've said numerous times).

Here's to hoping Darkfall delivers what is promised and that the bioware MMO is like Pre-CU SWG.

In my honest opinion, having played both, I'd go with Conan. I obviously haven't done any end game with Conan the way I have with WoW but leveling hasn't be incredibly dull so far.

The graphics are superior, quests more interesting (yes I've left Tortage). And I have not encountered any serious bug. There is a livejournal community for this game and it seems like that the official forums make the game out to be worse than it really is. Just a bunch of whiners who haven't played release before. So I wouldn't go off that at all.

I'll play the WoW expansion when it comes out to level really quick and what not but it has some good competition with AoC and Warhammer coming out.

WOW all the way. i hate people saying that wow is childish. im 30 my guild members are also around the same age. we have lots of fun because it's a great game period. there is plenty of end game material. i pretty much do Heroics and Raids 10 and 25 man.

AOC has probably just as many kids playing if not more because of the hype. OCC channel i believe is worse on AOC than any other game i've played.

i also always hear that WOW is cartoon-ish. it's looks really, I mean REALLY nice on my 28' hanns g or my panasonic 50' 1080p plasma. conan in all honesty is a slide show. I don't know if it's my pc or what. i can run almost anything 1900x1200 forced vsynch on Nvidia control panel and i hover at 60FPS flat. silky smooth beatifull gaming.

AOC on the other hand, among other not so well made games or coded games or i really don't know what... play like ****e.

but hey if you really like AOC and it's graffix because it makes you feel more mature thats cool. it's just i like to move around and stuff too.

WOW is still greater than any mmo out there. i'm waiting for the dethrone aswell dont get me confused, but it is what it is. looking forward to warhammer maybe it will be a contender.

I can say this much now: I have 2 friends that returned to WoW. Perhaps they'll go back to AoC once it gets polished up, but I don't think they'll be able to do that before WoTLK

Well I'll throw my bit in..

I played WoW for 35 levels and found it really hard to try to push for those last 5 levels.. hence why I quit. I was probably doing something wrong, I just found it boring, that and most of the quests were "Go here, kill x amount of y creature and return for your measly reward!"

Obviously, there are quite a few of these quests in AoC but they add extra things in like collecting a certain item or I don't know, but something more interesting.

The combat system is great IMO, really spices it up rather than just clicking on an enemy then clicking on your skills. Instead you get to decide which way to hit, and for your damage-increasing skills you have to actually input a combo to finish them, so = more skill.

Also, fatalities. Have you seen some of those? Fantastically gory One of my personal favourites is one swing to dismember one arm, another swing dismembers the other arm and the final swing is a nice decapitation

Anyway, IMO AoC is more interesting than WoW and once they add more quests for 40-80 level and more dungeons and group instances etc, will be a much better game than WoW.

Maybe so, but if the game doesn't have enough substance in it to keep me interested up until that level, then.. there's no hope for it in my eyes

Also, 60 levels is a lot of time for a casual player

2-3 days playtime

It used to be a lot better but unfortunately, Blizzard neglected Azeroth completely.
