Have not had an update in a while b/c ive been busy with college coursework, work and stuff so heres a few pics of what i did get done in my spare time..
So i painted the Front case panel this time round and nice gloss black..so first i sanded it all down and gave it a couple coats of grey primer for good adheasion for the paint. I use this car spray paint because its finish it nice and it is pretty tough and scratch resistant
Then sand down the primer with some 400 grit paper to get it smooth again, dont want that nasty orange peel finish..Ahh nice and smooth
Then it was time to give it its first coat of paint..Heres a little tip, heat the can up in a bucket of warm water, it pressurises the can and the paint sprays out in a much finer mist, resulting in a much better paint job
First coat of paint
Then sand down this first coat so the second coat can be even more smoother, You will get down to the primer again but only on edges, but it doesnt matter because one coat is more than enough to cover it up.
2nd coat of paint applied, looks better with the second coat
After that dries we sand it down with some 1500 grade to get it ready for clear coat. Wet sand it so the paper doesnt clog up and start scraping the paint of in places
And after 2 coats of clear it looks kinda like this
Ofcourse i had to catch the OCN flame in the reflection
Ok so thats the front panel and bezels painted...So now it was time to cut a hole for the 120mm fan in that piece of acrylic for the front. It looked like this before i cut it, you can see where I started to cut it but then remembered to take a pic
This was the circle finished, remember i done it by hand with a dremel and some sand paper, I was pretty happy with the result. I used some 1500 sand paper to polish the inner edge of the hole as i had no flame to polish it.
Came out very nice actually but the camera doesnt seem to capture it.
