As for DX 10.1 it is getting ridiculous, stop this ATI bull****, there 0 apps supporting it. Is it good or bad, that's different story. but for now the fact that ATI support 10.1 gives them nothing except marketing toy.
Assassins Creed supports 10.1. but that actually gave ATI an edge on Nvidia with AA on. So Nvidia most likely put pressure on Ubisoft to remove it in a patch. But in the unpatched game it does have 10.1.

Nvidia is devious these days.

Oh wait so NVidia is actually going to allow this to happen? Will they end up blocking this for some time like DX10.1 (what DX10 should have been in the first place)?
I guess their R & D team must have caught up by now.....

EDIT:
NVidia doesn't have tessellation yet?

I read in a previous article that Nvidia claimes they were just going to wait for DX11 and skip DX10.1. Whether or not that is true I have no idea.

since this will come around by the time windows 7, does this mean we could possibly get a better faster DX client?

I read in a few sources that DX10.1 was supposed to be the original DX10, but NVidia objected so much that MS downgraded some of the specs with AA being a shader operation and canned it.....I don't know if that's fact or mere speculation though.

Wouldn't surprise me with their recent theatrics, but what's done is done. I'm going ATI next regardless of how well the GTX performs because of Nvidia's recent behavior. Let's just hope my motherboard doesn't realize it has an ATI card plugged in and try to develop an auto-immune disease.

M$ only has one or two major releases left before their market dominance becomes a memory. By the time Window 7 hits the market, many businesses will be using Ubuntu for there desktop computing needs in addition to other Linux distros on their servers. The adoption of x86 architecture for every major platform has pretty much guaranteed a gradual diminishing of the importance of the operating system which can be augmented with compatibility layers and virtual machines.

In other words M$'s real competitor is Google. That's why they have been trying to takeover Yahoo, the operating system may be a dead market in twenty years, but the Internet is here to stay.

As good as high-end DX9 games look (GRID, HL: Ep 2, etc) how do they plan on getting a huge boost with DX11? DX10 doesn't look much better, and is too hardware intensive. DX11 may end up being more of the same, but I really don't know what more they plan on advancing. Heck, isn't MGS4 built on the same OpenGL that ran alongside DX9?

The thing is ATI doesn't actually take as much of a hit as nvidia does when it comes to AA. The problem ATI have is with aniostropic filtering, which is done by the TMUs, and its wont be as much of a problem with the upcoming 4 series since they're going to have twice the TMUs of the 3k series.
