Display Driver Stopped Working

"An Nvidia display driver has stopped responding and recovered!?"

Anyone tell me why this is happeneing!? - Happens while im playing LOTRO, and happened for the first time two days ago, since then it has happend two more times (both tonight within the last hour or so).

I bought this pc about a week ago, and recently put an MSI 8600GT OC edition. It has several Overclocking presets, and i use the highest level. The temp. have never exceeded 67c according to Nvidia System Monitor.

My specs are:

Q6600 2.4 ghz quad core
4 gb RAM
vista 64-bit OS
and the MSI 8600 GT OC edition card

This is a well known problem for Nvdia on vista, there are a number of causes and solutions. I found, for me, it was my memory timings for some reason. However it worked flawlessly in XP to begin with. Also make sure that you have all the up to date drivers, have a look on google for: nvlddmkm vista display problems

Maybe your overclock is too high. It always happens to me when I overclock my card too much when playing Crysis.

Like another user said, sometimes ram timings can mess up the nvidia display driver, there are a lot of problems/solutions with that exact crash, so we're trying to help you narrow down what the exact problem is. Could you go to your user control panel and fill in system specs so we can see exactly what you are running? that will help us diagnose you even more.
