Damn I am too late, but I was going to post not to get the 360 just yet there is rumored price drop because of the PS3 steady growth.

im getting a premium system and some extras for $290 so i think its a pretty decent deal. my friend suggested using the component cables and get the hdmi kit later on. honestly, ive been looking for some comparisons, but nothing ground breaking.

I've tried VGA and HDMI both on the same monitor and I have to say HDMI looks better. VGA is a bit blurrier and the colour balance isn't as good (without tuning)

is vga the same thing as component? dont component and hdmi both support 1080p, but component is analog and hdmi is digital so there is little or no loss with hdmi?

VGA is for Monitor only (pretty sure it's 480p) also the HDcomponent cable and the HDMI cable are basically the same....

HDcomponent supports: (480p(standard)/ 720p / 1080i (lower frame rate than 1080p, but still practically the same thing)/ 1080p (little laggy for some TV's, so i don't reccommend...))

the HDMI supports: (480p / 720p / 1080i / 1080p) .....

HDMI is all digital > component which is still analog. VGA supports all high def settings as well up through 1080p and is also an analog source. I prefer hdmi and I use VGA when I am working with a console that does not have hdmi.
