They said they wouldn't make future PC-exclusive games, but this has been in development for a while (probably a few years).

can't wait to play Psycho:

escorting the scientist away from the school while Nomad fights.
standing around on the pier loading crane while Nomad fights.
hovering the crappy VTOL around the carrier in the last level while Nomad fights.

just kidding! i'm looking forward to this, but i may not pick it up if it clashes with SC2 release time. i only recently got a Crysis capable system, so i'm still getting replay value out of the first.

i'm all about getting to play Prophet...i preferred his character, aside from his constant whining about being cold. what i really want is to play as Joker! get stuck in a tree, see my mate Aztec hung up eviscerated, then get pwnd myself shortly after.

Is this really new information in any way? Seems like someone just made a news story out of exactly what we were told in the beginning. We have known it isn't going to be the sequel and that it just Psycho's parallel story on the other side of the island. All we actually care about is whether this build of CryEngine2 will do it's thing faster than the build that shipped in Crysis.

I'm really hoping the real deal behind this is some kick ass multiplayer!! *crosses fingers* If they take crysis, make a BF2 style game from it (optimized for better performance of course) it will rock. Nothing better than the explosions in crysis and the tanks in the onslaught chapter of crysis were awesome!

yep. i'm not an uber enthusiast, though. with my old 8600 i was quite happy to play avg 30fps @ 1024 resolution with everything except shadows on High.

*i updated my gear sig though, since i upped to 8800GT (because of Crysis blagh) and can play at higher settings now.
