Best cooling additive?

Thread Starter
Well. I currently use Swiftech HydrX and I was wondering if there is anything better or if there is a difference between the additives.

Hydrx isn't to bad, I've used it before...I don't think I'd just change it out for another coolant, unless it was time to change it out...Its a pretty good all in one...

I like to mix this at 10 or 11-1 with distilled.Pentosin.Then a couple of drops of this for a biocide..PT Nuke..Then a ounce of glycerin to every 40 ounces of coolant and a drop of the blue "Dawn" dish soap...

The Dawn and glycerin are both sufactants, or water wetters, they will help you to bleed a little faster since it helps to keep the little micro bubbles knocked off everything, and will help thermal transfer a little, helps to get your coolant down all around the block pins...If you use to much of either one it will hurt temp's, not help...A little goes a long way...

Any time you change from one coolant to another clean your loop out real well, just the residue from your last coolant can cause weird reactions with you new coolant...

Here are a couple of the best links on the net of coolants I think...

A gallon should last a life time. What's the shelf life? HydrX is an EXCELLENT additive and peforms the same function as pentosin plus PT NUke. Only "downside" is that it comes only in UV green - which actually looks fantastic under UV

I like Feser one , been using it for a while and it seems great...
I personally run pure Distilled H2O with a few drops of Biocode. I've moved away from using dyes since I've just had too much trouble with them fading, separating out, and staining/gunking up the tubing/blocks. I do have some Feser Tube on order so at least I'll have some color again.

Careful, according to Petra's the red is more like pink. I wanted red instead of blue, but shied away this round.

I use distilled, pentosin and some PT nuke. I feel that less is more. (also really cheap)
