I don't use it as dye really, I just use it to raise the pH back up to a base so the coolant wont be so corrosive...I have to admit I like the blue, I'm still sick of green.....

What do you use to test it? litmus paper or a kit? I have never tested mine, but am curious. You want as close to 7 as possible, right?

I use a aquarium fill and shake tube, I test the distilled with it and kind if guess how much anti-freeze to add to it to bring it back up to a 7 or a little over, I try to keep it between 7-7.5 ..Since the anti-freeze is colored its hard to do on the mixed coolants...I had a pH meter that was perfect for that, it was and is a pain to keep calibrated...So I just guess at it any more...If my distilled is a 6-6.5 I'll go ahead and mix the G12 at 10 or 11-1 with distilled...If the distilled is closer to 7 I'll use 20-1 or so on it...The Pentosin or any anti-freeze I use only to raise my pH, not as a dye...

EDIT: PT Nuke is pretty acidic to, I just use a couple of drops of it in my loop...

The most important thing is to keep it a little above a 7pH...

These have to be the best links on the net for that kind of info...
