X1550 vs. X1300 Pro

Thread Starter
Well I'm in the market for a new AGP (x4) card for about $50. This is the last update I do to my aging system because it's not worth in anymore.

So I was looking on TigerDirect (Canada) and I saw the X1300 Pro, nice looking card then... *** 600MHz core and 800 memory?!?! Is that true? For $50!?!

Then I looked at the X1550 which is the SAME price, same amount of memory and if I'm right same core as the X1300...

So which card? They're both the same price?
Is the core really 600Mhz and memory 800MHz?
And will my PSU 250W, +12V rail at 14A be able to take either of these cards?

Cheers,

~B~

Chances are, your PSU will kill this. I'm pretty sure because my 9600XT wouldn't pull with 14A and it's an older card + less power draw. Now, I think that if the memory on those is DDR2 then it's pretty accurate. The core does go that fast. my 9600XT went 500 MHz hope that helps

As in I'm good to go or not enough power?

Not enough power... You're probably going to need more amps. What exactly is in the system anyways? I'm trying to figure out if you have enough power as it is without the video card...

MoBo, CPU, CPU H/S & fan, 2 Sticks (PC3200) Ram, 80GB H/D (7200RPM), CD-RW DVD, Memory card scanner.

SUPER basic.

You could probably get yourself like an Antec Basiq 500W PSU and you'd be good with any of those video cards. I believe the Basiq has like 36A. It's pretty cheap too

Not really looking to spend anymore then... Well $50 for the graphics card.

Can anyone else confirm that I will need a new PSU or am I ok??
