tht 12mb L2 quad is sweet, think that will be my next cpu when computers make 'better' use of quads as apposed to duals.

By that point, Nehalem/K10.5/Bulldozer will be common and that much cache would be useless

Due to my living in Canada, I've had to track down all the parts via NCIX rather than Newegg. And to make matters worse, the G.skill $45 instant rebates ran out before I could checkout. Here are the parts (excluding the thermal compound) and subtotal:

Comes up to a grand total of about $650... which is really $150 considering the first $500 is a gift. Anyhow, I may drop the GPU for now and await the gtx280's arrival.
