PCI Express 2.0

Thread Starter
Hello all, its been a very long time sense I have been on here. =[ I need to know if I buy a PCI Express 2.0 x16 graphics card, will it be able to run in my motherboard that just has a PCI Express x16 slot? If so what new cards do you all recommend, I'm looking for something around the $200-280 range.

Yes, all PCI-E cards can run on any PCI-E, slot 2.0 or not.

PCIE2.0 might give a very slight boost in performance, but 2.0's main benefit is mainly to give out more power to the card through the PCIE slot instead of through power connectors.

It'll work fine. If I was you, I'd wait for the 4870 or the 260
