[Maximum PC] The Disk Defrag Difference - Page 4

I don't care what a magazine says; defragmented drives ensure overall smoothness in my system's performance and operation, which the 'benchmarks' never reflect. Gaming (especially those that access the drive often), photoediting, file copying etc are much better when the drives are in good shape. I prefer to I find Diskeeper 2008 to be excellent in this regard, and I will continue to use it without a doubt.

30 sec in startup time is a pretty significant difference, but 170 seconds, holy crap.

Mine starts in 70 (from off state to logged in and idle)

on my workstation at work all of our security camera footage is kept on my hard drive, so i have to defrag alot. it really does help in most cases, but the vista machines we have hardly ever need to be defragged.

The moral of this story kiddies : It is preinstalled in every single Windows machine for a reason, and it does it's job well, don't doubt Microsoft can do something right.

Hahahaha, it's obvious that none of you know that Vista's defrag program is built off of the Diskeeper program lol. I use Ultimate Defrag, it is hugely better than Diskeeper. And yes there is a big difference in how well it works after defraging the drive if it is badly fragged.
