Did I get a bad iPhone?

Ever since I opened up my iphone, I've had nothing but problems with it. It constantly has glitches where the display turns off by itself and I have to push the hold button or the home button multiple times to get it to turn back on. Also, it has this weird issue where I can't fast forward to parts of the song I like. Instead of going to that part of the song, it just move the little silver circle that represents your place in the song, but the song doesn't change. There are many other problems, but I'm trying to keep this from being a rant, so anyways. My question is: If I have alot of problems, but they happen randomly, can I still convince a genius at the apple store to exchange/repair it for me?

I think genius is pushing it when it comes to Apple Store employee's but i did sense your sarcasm.

If you got it from the apple store take it up there and show them whats wrong. They might give you some bs about mailing it off or if they are in a good mood they might even upgrade you to a 3g :O

That sometimes happens to me.

I've only noticed it since 1.1.4...maybe it's because mine's jailbroken?

Well either way, it isn't functioning 100%. Take it back and explain your problems, the customer is always right so they won't reject it if you demand that you want a new one.

I think that it's just a glitch with 1.1.4... Mine isn't Jail-broken.

i had some glitches when i first had mine (1.1.1) but, immediately upgrading to 1.1.3 fixed it. and now it's jailbroke on 1.1.4 with no issues.

No, the technical support people at Apple are actually called "The Geniuses", i think its funny personally, Mac OSX was designed to be simple that you must be an idiot to break it, but it takes a genius to fix it
