Yes it will void your warranty so make sure your chip is running fine before you do it, as far as heatsinks are concerned, I don't know if it would void anything or not.

Nooooo! Ah well I reckon I've got a decent enough cooling, I'll probably do that when the warranty dies out and if I still have this CPU, (3 year warranty for the Q6600 is it?)
