GIGABYTE X-48-DQ6 Will Not OverClock!!!!

OverClocking CPU only!!!
Tried Bios F6 and F7b and neither would work differently

I tried overclocking my cpu. 9x333=3.0. i go to bios and tune it up by these settings.

9x333
DDR2= .20v
PCI=.10v
FSB=.20v
G(MCH)=.20v
CPU volts 1.40

Pics of what the bios looks like. NOT THE SETTINGS I USED.

then i would save settings. it reboots. it boots up then shuts down, boots up then shuts down, then boots up normally with out settings i have saved....
I take back the mobo thinking it was the mobo that was wrong with it.

I got new mobo but same model etc... Did the same tune up as first mobo i had. I would save it and then it would reboot and go to the Vista logo then reboot. i know the volts are good enough for those settings.

im thinking its either the cpu or im missing a few options in the bios

thanks

are you selecting a "manual" overclock option, or a percentage thing...

I know with my X38 maximus extreme, there are several different options as far as how you want to approach the overclock. Make sure you select a manual type of overclock so you have full control over what does what.

When you say this, you mean the settings are increaced this much over stock? different boards auto detect different settings to be stock, so applying these settings may not be doing anything. Post the final settings, through fully manual choices and see where that takes you
good enough

The problem is the PCI Express frequency set to [Auto]. Set it to 100 Mhz please and then give it a whirl.

Try these settings...they might help

The main thing to do is turn off 'turbo' mode

And if you are running at stock Ghz then no need for 1.45v
