Ugh, a topic for another thread I think. Let's just say that apparently I suck at OCing, need to read more I think!

I'm gonna go with the 8800GT, and see what I can get out of it. Cheers for the help guys, will let you know how it goes
Sadly I get the low FPS because my CPU is the failzors . But really this game is playable at these frame rates.

yer... its a bit much though, ill end up breaking my card if i attempt that volt mod.... knowing my luck

Id love to run my core clock @800MHz, this card is a beast @750MHz so 800MHz would be superb.

Ah, thats a very nice overclock. My card tops out around 720-30 even with a 1.10v vmod (if I recall). Then again, you have a Gainward.

CRYSIS WARHEAD I can get 30-35fps on 1152 res with no AA - I get 25-30 fps with 4x AA on 1024 x 768 with a 9600GT OC to 775, 995 (650, 900) No problems. (ALL ON ENTHUSIAST!) I can turn in 8xQAA on 1024 and get 18-22 which is still playable no worries, no stutters or any of that - and honestly having the AA on really has no visual change for me...just a drop in FPS

yeah . the deal with AA is retarted, theres barely a difference in AA if you have a 17-19 inch monitor running 1400x 900 /1280 x 1024. all it does is fawk up the gameplay.

anyway. if you want a single performance setup, the 8800gt will win
if you want better performance per dollar, the 9600gt sli set up should be good.

so in short:

8800gt= better than 9600gt all around single 8800gt sli= very good , but the scaling isnt great for the money

9600gt= decent for a single setup (1280x1024) , 9600gt sli= scales very well, and great for the value

if you can find an 8800gt for under 115$ get it, if u can find a 9600gt for under 95-100$, get it. either choices would serve you well anyway imo
