Comments on this system?

Ok, here is a fixed list of the system I have at the moment:

This is the more expensive version and could really be used as a nice gaming system. It is pushing the limits of my budget which is right around $600 (less is better of course).

PSU

Mobo

Card

CPU

RAM

The alternative cheaper version has the same case, PSU and RAM, but is AMD based:

This system is about $400- even if I added that graphics card its still about $100 cheaper.

My goal is to have a medium power gaming rig that is quiet, looks good, and can play HD content either off disk or an internal blu ray which I will get later in an HTPC role.

I like the case, its very new so not many user reviews but the online reviews are quite good. The same applies for the PSU. But Im open for suggestions there too.

Would love to hear any suggestions comments or anything else that may help me finalize the box!

Thanks!

If you go with an AMD system, I would think about grabbing one of their 45W processors.

Also, if you are going to use an integrated graphics card, I'd say there isn't much of a need for a 550W power supply, especially if you go with a lower power consumption CPU.

I recently built a similar system to this (which I eventually transformed into a gaming system), and I bought the Antec NSK2400 case (which has now been replaced by the NSK2480). It comes with a 380W Antec Earthwatts power supply, which should be fine for that system, and tons of neat heat and sound dissipation features. I don't know how attached you are to getting that BGears case, but I would highly recommend the Antec one, which would knock about $90 off your total, because you could use the included power supply. It also looks like a classy home theater component, which is kinda neat. The 2400 got very good reviews, and from what it looks like, the 2480 is basically the same case.

Have fun with the build!
