just got 2 more gig, but having issues

I have been running my OC stable for about a year. e6600 @3.4, but then i just installed vista a few weeks ago, and also got more ram. So now i have 4 gig ram. But i only just noticed yesterday that My OC has been turned off by the bios. So i turned it on and it was back at 3.4 according to cpuz. But today i realised that it keeps being reset. All it is though, is that the Cpu host clock control setting is being turned off each time, though occasionly it will stay on and i can check that it's what it should be in cpuz, however most the time i try it wont save so when it gets into windows it's not oc'd. I have a xp and vista but on 2 seperate hard drives. I don't know much about oc'ing, i just followed someones guide for oc'ing the ds3, and eventually i got something stable. These are my settings: fsbx9 @ 378, system multi 2.00, timings: 5,5,5,12, ddr2 +0.1v, fsb +0.1v, mch +0.1v, cpu 1.43125v. The cpu temps are fine, however i just use the stock northbridge cooler, but have never come into any problems. like i say, it has been stable for a year untill i got the ram/vista. I just tried updating to the latest bios (f130) but still same.

Edit: have tried another +1 ddr2 volt (no change), tried another notch of vcore(failed to post), tried loosening timings to 55518, then 66618 and 66612. tried taking crysis out of the dvd drive (lol). im gunna buy a fan for northbridge, but i cant see why that would affect this as this happens for it gets hot... ideas? more ddr2 volt? i think the ds3 defaults 1.8v for ram, and mine is rated 1.8-2.2v, so should i try +3 or +4?

You need more voltage on the NB if you can find a setting for that. Not sure if MCH is NB.

right, ive got a 40mm fan now. But im still not getting anywhere. generally it will hold the settings untill i make it cold boot. I have tried settings of +4 ddr2, +3 mch, looser ram timings, +2 fsb, +1 pcie, tried another notch of vcore (but it wouldnt post at all then), tried making pcie frequency 101, tried lowering fsb so that im @3.2 instead of 3.4.

I don't know what else to try. I ran memtest for 2 hours and it was ok, but it seems to boot fine without the oc anyway. I guess ill have to start from scratch again. any suggestions? could it be the ds3 fsb strap thing, should i try 400 fsb or something?

ok, not that anyone cares lol... but this is my current situation:

I thought that the F7 bios had fixed it, and maybe it sort of did. but then for one thing, i was getting the x-fi bug where it would have to reinstall the drviers for my soundcard ocasionly after a reboot, and secondly.... it f'd up my vista install. Basicly i had to recover my partitions using some software and am now trying to save my install by repairing it.
