Any of the other NFS games. I like NFS: PS but a lot of people don't.

Check out GRID. It should be right up your alley. I think the NFS series peaked with Most Wanted, and a lot of people would agree with me.

Indeed, agreed.

Most Wanted was amazing, everyone loved it. Carbon was ok, but not as good - then pro street just wasnt NFS at all..

Ya i played need for speed carbon and that was rubbish compared to most wanted

GRID you can download that on Steam awesome man. What sort of game is it I was going to download flatout but if you saying GRID is cool i'll download that instead

GRID is a lot like NFS, really. Awesome graphics, drift competitions, semi-realistic driving physics, without being boring like GT5. Personal preference there, don't kill me for it, lol. I downloaded GRID and it is a lot of fun. It throws you right into the action driving high end cars for other teams, in order to make enough money to start your own team, instead of starting off on unmodified ricers and going 70 MPH for the first 2 hours of the game. LAME!

You should be able to max it out no problem. I have had no issues with it on max settings, other than AA, at 1600 x 1200. I imagine running at 720p your system should be able to completely max it out, AA and all.

GRID runs great for me, at least for the first race.
In the campaign (grid world i think?) I am able to race the first race (it was one of the ones in the demo) where you're in the Dodge Viper. Very fun, I can usually get 1st or 2nd, but when it finishes, it goes to a short cutscene showing the garage. After that, it displays 3 races and says I need $80,000 to continue, but it doesn't let me go back to the main menu, I have to ALT+F4 and then all I can do is multiplayer or a quick race.
I'm really mad at my game, the demo was so fun!

Out of all the NFS series I never enjoyed MW. I didn't like the cops implimentation. But if you liked it I would try juiced. Kind of similar, little older. And yea grid is not much of a game like MW, its more of a GT game. Everyone telling you to get that is just naming it cuz its new and it like the only thing they can think of. Still a sick game tho!

The bad and the ugly = Underground series, prostreet and carbon.

EA needs to go back to its roots.
I sort of liked Underground 2, but I can't believe there were no cops... (and it needed at least a little bit of daytime!)

I have just brought GRID the full Game from my local Shop it cost £24.99 it requires 12.5GB of your hard drive space that is crazy for a racing game pentium 4 or higher so it must only be single core enabled not duel core so i can run my virus scan at the same time it just goes to show games are still only using 1 core

Glad you like it. I'm having a buttload of fun playing it.

I feel your pain man
I've got a 360 controller too and I feel you can crash wayyy too easily. I have to slow down tremendously on some maps just to turn without sliding out of control. I don't know if I"m doing it wrong, but the controls are a bit weird.

Other than that, GRID is a great game. It's very fun once you can master some of the turning.

I love Test Drive Unlimited - the freedom is awesome, as are the cars (can take some getting used to the handling), and the graphics are supurb!! The online aspect is nice, but slightly overstated. You will never see more than 7 other people, as that is the limit the server is set to.
It's a little old now, but the graphics are still top notch. I think there is a new one coming out next year though?

Edit: There is basically no tuning on TDU. You can take your car to a tuners, and they can apply Stage 1, 2 or 3 tuning - this basically raises BHP and reduces weight, while upgrading the brakes and suspension. No user definable settings though, it's all in the Stage 1, 2 & 3
