£30 to spend on a CPU Cooler.

Thread Starter
Hello,

I have around £30 to spend on a new CPU Cooler.

I was looking at the Thermalright Ultima-90i, but I will need to find a fan to attatch to it. I was also looking at the Zalman CNPS9700 LED, which is the only thing I will need to buy if I go for this.

It will be going into a CM-690, with the stock fan placements (120mm in the back, front and side, are these even worth having, they seem to move no air!), and on an ASUS P5K Premium WiFi/AP (sig rig).

Could people post their temps and any recommendations?

I wan't to make the right decision before buying

The 9700 is a cooler of yesteryear and is way to expensive for it's performance... the TR Ultima 90 is a pretty good cooler for it's size, but why get a 92mm cooler when you can fit a 120mm cooler in your case?

The Xigmatek HDT-S1283, OCZ Vendetta 2 and Tuniq Tower would beat both the 9700 and TR ultima-90 and would be at or below that price range... look around for those 3 coolers

I'd go for the tuniq tower, it's just under 30 quid but it's a pretty good cooler

Vendetta 2? Just under £30 plus it comes with a fan, performs as well and outperforms the TRUE in some reviews. I don't regret getting it. Although I only got it because I couldn't get a TRUE in the uk at the time ;x
