Step up 9600gt to 8800gt - Page 2

I say keep the 9600GT SLI. It'll be much better than an 9800gtx and only marginally worse than 8800GT SLI, I heard the only time 8800gt sli makes a large improvement over 9600gt sli is in super high resolution.

If all you have to pay is shipping, go for it!

A free 15% increase in performance is worth it, I don't know why some people are saying it isn't worth it...

Here's some benchmarks.

http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/...ance/page5.asp

http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/...ance/page8.asp

http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/...ance/page9.asp

In each of them the 8800GT's are about 15% faster.

wrong.

9800gtx is only better above 1680x1050. at least that is the case against the 9600GT in SLI.

So what's the verdict? stick with the SLI 9600's, SLI 8800 gt's, or get a single 9600gtx?

I might not even bother trying to step it up even if I could, the performance difference between it and the 8800 is so little anyways, and I've heard that the 9600's cool nicer than the 88's. I also don't have a huge screen for it to make much of a difference anyways.
