AMD Athlon LE-1640

Thread Starter
Hey guys. I just got the LE-1620 for 15 bucks for my server/htpc/some games and i am amazed how well it did.

Even tho its only 1 core it preforms pretty well in games and 720p with the HD3450.

Right now i am running it at 2800MHz at 1.1Vcore(from 1.225) . and the load temp wont go over 38C with the stock cooler at the lowest rpm at full load.

Cant say how happy i am with it and i can really recommend it to all of you that want a really cheap HTPC.

[edit] it was a LE-1620 not a 1640

Great price. I did not know AMD was still making single cores.
I guess the 45w helps the temps a lot.
I have a 65w Orleans and it runs pretty warm @ stock speeds (stock cooling though).

damn... nice price man. is it native single core or is it an X2 with 1 core disabled?

I wonder how the heat/power-consumption/performance stacks up to the atom and the new VIA chip

It's a native single core i think. Orleans is based on the 90nm Athlon 64 but with 1Mb cache and lower TDP

Heya.

Now tried this processor in my gaming computer because i think my 5000+ is broken.

Anyhow it clocked really well, 3400MHz @ 1.47V and the temps are amazing. 42-44 Load temp. Not sure how accurate they are but the HS is not even warm .
Also tried 3500 with 1.5Vcore but i feel like thats to much.
