Piracy can be, and quite often is, stealing (or theft). Take a look at the definition again:

If you steal someones work or Intellectual Property, would that not be an "unauthorized use" (piracy)?
You are claiming that piracy is a form a stealing, yet you support your claim with irrelevant evidence that suggests stealing is a form of piracy. What exactly are you arguing here?

A square is a rectangle but a rectangle is not necessarily a square.

First "unauthorized" doesn't directly imply wrong or illegal.
But it can. Once again, If you steal someones work or Intellectual Property, would that not be an "unauthorized use" (piracy)?

Piracy:

3 a: the unauthorized use of another's production, invention, or conception especially in infringement of a copyright
Unauthorized, by definition, means doing something you are not endowed to do by the authority of the rightful owner.

How is that irrelevant? Stealing someones work (i.e. intellectual property) without authorization is piracy.

You know what though, you may have an inadvertent point here. We can sit and argue semantics all day long... but it doesn't change the fact that piracy is wrong (unauthorized). And attempts to use semantics to get around that point are all too often just a poor justification that it's OK to steal.

It can be. And often is. It can also be a multitude of other illegal acts.

Are you really trying to justify it everyone else, or simply trying to make yourself feel better about theft?

Did you even read the post you were responding to? You just repeated the same fallacy.

The issue at hand is whether piracy is stealing, not the other way around.

Perhaps you lack the cognitive functioning to make this distinction?

Oh no. I've been found out. Yes, I would cry in bed every night if I didn't contribute to the revenue of Microsoft and Adobe, but still used their products.

Honestly this is getting absurd. I'm done here.

Comparing the definitions of two words is not a "fallacy". Quit trying to get around the point here. Piracy can be stealing, and quite often is. You seem to lack the "cognitive functioning" to make the simple realization that taking something that doesn't belong to you is wrong (and illegal) - in any format. That, or you obviously don't care.

I wasn't sure whether or not you don't understand the fact piracy is wrong or you just don't care. The above comment and others lead me to believe it's the latter:

And even if you only copied a few pages, that would not be stealing.

Unfortunately, it is considered stealing
and you would get in trouble, so it would be a bad idea.

Maybe someday you'll realize that responsible, law-abiding people don't just take whatever they think is too expensive or not worth paying for.

You're right. It's not. But the conclusion you reached based on the comparison is an example of this fallacy. Please do not ask me to explain this to you.

I'm not trying to get around your point, I'm simply exposing that your argument is invalid. You are the one trying to divert attention away from the fact that your entire argument is based on a fallacy.
