E6600 and Q6600 Kwh?

I'm trying to figure out why my monthly electricity bill is so high..
I have a E6600 @ 3.4 GHz and a Q6600 @3.4 Ghz.
They run 24/7 utilizing all cores at 100% for World Community Grid.

My bill says I use up 20.5 Kwh per day. Which is about 20500 watts.
If I take that and divide by 24 hours, that gives me 854 watts an hour. After taking out other electrical appliances it still seems high.. since I have a one story house and my computer is in the living room. So almost all the time, only the living room lights are on.

Can anyone estimate the normal electricity consumption?

When my Q6600 is running 100% load, it's using about 400W, E6600 system would probably be around 250-300 (due to other components using wattage as well). This comes out to about 650-700 Watts per hour, then add in however many other electronics you've got on. Sounds right to me.

If you don't already have one, you could look to get a UPS that displays a readout on electrical information. The one I have shows voltage irregularities from your wall plug, how much wattage you are currently using, and battery levels.

Plus it'll keep your computer running if the power goes out.
