IMO people dont need 500gigs of storage. I just use my comp for gaming and music and i haven't even filled up my 160gig hard drive...just a thought
One reason that I chose that drive is because of the performance, not the capacity. Also, these are just suggestions, the people will have to find out what they want to use the pc for and choose the parts accordingly.

Ok, thanks.
Later I will update with the <$600 build with the 8800GS. I might be able to make a $500 but by that time you might as well start looking at used parts.

Great
Hopefully it will help members building new rigs get an idea of what they want and then they can ask specific questions, not just "Spend me $800".

yeah, I realize that now. I will be using the 8800GS and make it a <550 build.
Im also going to had a list of comparable parts to each build and suggested upgrades.

I am going hold off on a $1000+ build until the new graphics cards come out.

Your $1000 gpu points to the 9600 instead of the one you listed.
