No - i get 300FPS+ in BF2 - with dual hd3870's - there is not much stress in that - tried crysis?

I don't have Crysis, unfortunatly. But, in BF2 with everything maxxed, I have been only getting 70-120 fps. Should it be higher with my specs? Maybe I just got one of the unstable/poor IceQ3 Turbo's.

I actually got it right from the Tigerdirect warehouse, so I was thinking I could just run there and exchange it for a new one (30day warrenty, w00t). If that doesnt fix it, Im guessing it's a driver problem then?

Sorry for the double post, But, I downloaded ATi Tool, and am running artifact scanning. It didn't last 10 minutes. I thought it might be GPU temp related, as I found the reason for the HIS Turbo's hit or miss stability seems to stem from some of the cards have a BIOS problem, which doesnt allow the fan to speed up. CPUID has said my GPU has maxed out at 61C. So, I thought, Thats not very hot for a GPU at all. But, I noticed the second temp in ATiTool, was getting up into the high 90C's.

Could that be causing it? I thought my fan was speeding up, but I manually turned it to 100% and that thing is loud! lol.

Ye, might be the prob. Even tho ati says RV670 is made to operate at those temps.
Anyway, fan not speeding up on 3870 is a known issue. My asus has the same probs. I use atitools to make profiles with set fan speeds. Speeding the fan to 80% when I enter a 3D app, and down to 50% when I exit them.

I was having the exact same problems but for FarCry that i recently got on STEAM for $10. TF2 was working fine @ 865mhz oc but one problem is the fan doesn't come on high enough if you don't use separate software.

I've noticed it seems to be a heat issue. I think it's related to the passive cooling at the end of the board towards the power plug.

When i focused my room fan on it, the thing ran for a couple of hours before crashing atikmdag. When i downclocked it to stock for the Sapphire, it worked fine.

I think I am just going to replace it with an 8800GTS, and be done with it. Either that, or a Visiontek 3870. Im not sure which, but Ill decide that in the car on the way, haha.

Thanks for the replies all.
