You shouldn't compare brand new not even released tech with something which has been out a while now...

The 8800GTS G92 has been out since last year....

If a new card by ATI doesn't beat the 9800GTX then they may as will give up and go die in a hole.

Also, the 8800GTX and ultra only beats the 9800GTX at high res (24" or above). I should know because I just sold my 3 8800GTX's and am buying 2 9800GTX's.

Add to this that ATI have yet to make a **SINGLE GPU** 8800GTX beater. The 8800GTX is like 2 years old now and still pwns everything ATI makes apart from the 3870X2 which chokes at high res with plenty of AA.

umm, wouldn't that make him right? It may be only under certain circumstances and only by a small margin, but beat it it does.

I still think this was a given. With all the speculation on where the 48xx's will be, none have put them below the 9800GTX.

Then what the hell do you think they should compare it to?! Yeah they should compare it to the GTX 280 cause of course ATI has one of those in there offices... And why does it matter whether it takes 2 GPUs to take down one. If it is at the same point it doesn't matter. Also its AF that actually makes ATI cards choke not AA but that isn't a big deal.

Shouldn't be compared to anything yet as nothing about the 4 series has been confirmed.

Also, having two GPU's to beat a single GPU is just a miserable excuse for not being able to match it properly.

I mean look at the 3870X2... If you test the 8800GTX against it at 1680 * 1050 with AA/AF, the 3870X2 will most likely loose.

Indeed what I meant. I run a 24" Dell Ultra Sharp and play all my games at 1920X1200. This is the resolution I care about and happen to look at when I study graphs and charts of card performance. So for me it beats it.

I think there is a growing trend as prices drop of more and more people running high res so it should be a market concern when looking at graphs. It never made sense to me how some people would drop $400-$700 on a video card but wont buy a new monitor.

Will most likely loose?
Why would you include a fact to assign credibility to your statement if you are not certain of it...? That's like using your opinion as a fact, it doesn't work. If you don't know for sure that the 8800GTX beats a 3870X2 you shouldn't include it in your argument.

I can understand why you are an Nvidia fanboy, they are a damn good company and make amazing cards. However, your trying to bash ATI with unverified facts and baseless statement's baffles me.

You should welcome this competition from ATI, it will increase Nvidia's productivity and decrease their price.
